A Note From Our President
Hello and welcome,
Thank you for visiting our site! We hope you have found it helpful and if you are seeking support and connection, you have come to the right place. We invite you to consider joining our community as well as taking part in an HIV support group near you. A listing of groups meeting around Iowa can be found under the calendar tab in the main menu. For now, due to COVID safety precautions, most groups are meeting via Zoom. We still manage to have a lot of fun and learn a lot.
It's a big year for us as we celebrate 15 years of fellowship and support. PITCH was formed in 2006 with the goal of providing emotional, educational, and social support for Iowans living with HIV. We have come a long way since then and look forward to many more years of camaraderie, education, and support.
Since 2006, we've grown to over 140 members. Our members include people living with HIV as well as community members, friends, and family of a person living with HIV (PITCH Hitters). We are an active, supportive group that welcomes all new members with kindness, care, and compassion.
PITCH members have shared empowerment stories, created art to combat stigma, and living quilt panels that are shared in our communities as educational resources. These creative expressions have also been shared at PRIDE, colleges, fundraising events, monthly Meet & Greets, and Wellness Summits.
I am proud to work with so many great people who have dedicated their time and talent to this organization. We continue to strive to make a greater impact on the communities in which we live and work.
I am honored to have the privilege of serving as the PITCH Board President!
Sincerely,
Roger Lacoy
